As I was getting ready this morning, I discovered that my eyeliner had suddenly dried up. I wouldn’t normally have rushed straight out to get a new one, but I had 2 sets of prom makeup to do this afternoon and definitely could not do that with a crusty eyeliner! Not a good look.
I popped out to Boots to pick up a new one, but while I was there, a few other things jumped into my hand and wanted to come home with me! aha! I was silently praying that the new NYX counter had been installed, but it hadn’t. Cry. If it had, this teeny tiny haul could possibly have been quite a big NYX haul. At least my bank account is quite safe, for now.
I have recently been using, and loving, a matte brown Makeup Revolution eyeshadow as a contour colour, but it seems to get used up quite quickly (although I can’t really complain for £1!). However, I thought that it was time that I tried out a matte colour which is made for contour.
I picked up this Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit for £5.99. It has a matte brown shade along with a matte very light champagne coloured highlight. I have never used a matte highlight, nor seen one used so I can’t wait to have a little play with that and see how it turns out! The colours seem quite highly pigmented from the swatches, but only time will tell what the colour payoff is like once it is applied.
Just like the majority of people who I have heard from, my all time favourite concealer is Collection Lasting Perfection. I tend to use the shade 1 – Fair, the most, it is perfect for highlighting under my eyes, has very high coverage and blends beautifully. As it is so popular, I find that it is a l w a y s sold out, so annoying! So when I noticed that it was fully stocked, I couldn’t resist picking up a reserve.
I have been loving the matte lip trend recently, but the only shades which I have are quite bright, and I fancied something with a warmer tone. After seeing Zoe raving about the Barry M Lipliners in her June Favourites, I thought that I would have a little look at what they were all about. I picked up the shade Rose, which is number 15.
I couldn’t resist putting it on as soon as I got in the car, and I must say that I am impressed. I can see it becoming a favourite of mine fast, I may even go back to get a few other colours.
And finally, the 1 thing that I went out for. They didn’t have the eyeliner which I normally buy, so instead I had a little look around and this one caught my eye. It has a really thin nib, which is handy for thin winged liner and dries super fast to a completely matte finish. Hopefully its long lasting and doesn’t crack off!
love, Leanne xx
